anti-malware etc) can substitue for
being careful. New threats come out everyday.
But you can ensure that your computer is
maintained. Just as you would put gas in your automobile,
change the oil, maintain air
in your tires, lock the doors and wash your car;
so should you maintain your PC.
Make sure that:
- Your system is up to date on patches
- You have an up to date and working ant-virus.
- You have an up to date and working firewall.
- You only open email attachments that you can verify the sender.
- You avoid "free" stuff on the internet unless you are sure of the source.
